Sanaa Shaikh

Sanaa is a qualified Architect and currently a partner at MAKE Architects. Having trained at the Bartlett and the AA respectively, she has worked at a range of practices in London and Mumbai, working on Residential and Commercial buildings, Special needs schools and bespoke homes. She has an interest in the built environment in places of humanitarian need, and has designed a number of installations in different locations around the world, using reclaimed materials and encouraging community engagement. At MAKE she works on larger scale projects in London, Mumbai and Sydney incorporating innovative materials and construction methods. She is also a member of MAKE’s future spaces foundation that explores social and economic opportunity through the transformation of spaces.

Sanaa is an active participant of a number of organisations promoting the profession to young women and those from non-traditional backgrounds including ‘Budding Brunels’, ‘Open City’ and ‘Women in Construction’.

Sanaa is also visiting critic at the AA and the University of West England.
