Matt Bannerman is an experienced aid worker and senior manager with global humanitarian NGO CARE International, for whom he has designed and managed programs in a wide variety of emergency and development contexts in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Following previous careers in the private sector as an engineer and a journalist, Matt joined CARE after completing a Masters program in Development Communications. During a decade with the organization, he has held a variety of positions, including heading a global, multi-agency partnership for building emergency response and management capacity, and leading CARE’s program as Country Director in Rwanda. In his current role, he is responsible for program quality across CARE’s programs in East, Central and Southern Africa.
