  1. Before you came to Brookes what did you study and where?
  2. I studied Architecture at Universidad Ricardo Palma (Ricardo Palma University) in Lima, Peru.

  3. What made you choose Brookes as a place to study?
  4. I was strongly interested in pursuing graduate studies in MA IARD at Oxford Brookes University for different reasons. Firstly, I was very interested in the components of the programme offered by the School as well as its outstanding references. And secondly, I was seeking to benefit from Oxford's unique academic environment.

  5. What do you think of the course while you were here?
  6. I think MA IARD is a very interesting and unique programme. You have not only the experience of attending lectures, where professors are very good and they show you about different architectural experiences around the world, but also traveling and visiting a country with a totally different culture and make a project in situ. Thus, I can say that the course is very well balanced with a blend of theoretical and practical courses and a variety of interesting optional modules.

  7. How did your scholarship enhance your experience of the course?
  8. I was extremely fortunate in obtaining the John Henry Brookes Scholarship. It gave me the opportunity of remaining focused on the course without having to concern about my finances. I am really grateful to the sponsors of this Scholarship.

  9. What are your plans for when you've completed your programme, for work or further study?
  10. I would like to come back to my native country and work there. Then, after some years working in Peru, I would like to apply to study a PhD.

  11. What are the best aspects of studying at Brookes?
  12. Its unique academic environment, the group of people I met (everyone from different backgrounds and with varying experiences, the supportive academic staff, and its location in Oxford City are the best aspects of studying at Oxford Brookes.

  13. What advice do you have for others thinking of studying in the School of the Built Environment?
  14. Study at Oxford Brookes, it is a great choice. I found studying there one of the best experiences of my life as it expanded my vision and imply not only a fundamental quality leap in my career but also in my personal life. I would advise future students to give the best of themselves as well as absorb all that they can. This experience would be only once in your life.
