Madiina Nakibenga

Questions and answers:

  1. What made you decide to come to Oxford Brookes University?
  2. My mission is to contribute to the wellbeing of people especially those in difficult circumstances. First was the unique course of Development and Emergency Practice which is not in any other university in the United Kingdom. Second was the scholarship from Martin Wilkinson fund which was the deciding factor because I did not have enough money to enrol at the time.

  3. What does this Scholarship mean to you? Did this award enable you to study at Oxford Brookes?
  4. The scholarship is a great opportunity to me, being from a third world country where people strive to meet basic needs, suffering hardship due to illiteracy and poverty. It will be great to pass on my knowledge and empower others to engage in sustainable community-based development work. The scholarship has enabled me to study at Oxford Brookes. Had it not been for the scholarship I could not have enrolled at the University this year.

  5. How have you found your experiences of the University so far?
  6. Really the university is so lovely, people are sociable, everything is available and we have good experienced lecturers.
