  1. Before you came to Brookes what did you study and where?
  2. I am originally from Tirana, Albania where I spent the first two years in secondary school. Leaving Albania, I joined Kings School of Oxford to pursue an International Foundation course in Humanities and Business related disciplines. Upon completion, I joined the undergraduate honours in architecture at Oxford Brookes University in 2001. I have completed my BA Honours in Architecture and the Diploma in Architecture Practical Training Year (Part 1), and currently I am about to complete the Diploma in Architecture (Part 2).

  3. What made you choose Brookes as a place to study?
  4. I chose to study at Oxford Brookes because I was aware of its great reputation. Oxford Architecture, as they used to call it, has always been ranked very high amongst universities in the UK. In terms of social life, it also had a great diversity of international students. Also the way the department deals with the program is very different to where I come from.

  5. What do you think of the course now you're here?
  6. The department of Architecture is a very likeable place to be in thanks to the skilled tutors and the commitment of all of us students. I have to admit that it is a very demanding course, but also a very exciting one. We are being taught a profession that affects our society and various other professions as well. I have enjoyed every day of the course thanks to the opportunities given to me and I have achieved some precious outcomes.

  7. What are your plans for when you've completed your course, for work or further study?
  8. Upon successful completion of the Diploma in Architecture I am planning to undertake the Masters in International Architectural Regeneration and Development. After that I need to apply for a job and work for an Architectural office in the UK in order to gain valuable experience to prepare for the Part 3 required qualifications in the years to come.

  9. What are the best aspects of studying at Brookes?
  10. Oxford Brookes University offers a friendly environment and being among international students presents an interesting cultural background. The university has great services and resources for students, from the print facilities to the digital studio.

  11. What advice do you have for others?
  12. I have recommended Oxford Brookes to a lot of people just because it offers a variety of field studies and it has a warm environment. I would recommend Oxford Brookes especially to those who would like to study architecture because its reputation is growing fast and this is thanks to the quality of work and the commitment of the students.
