Interdisciplinary Civic Engagement Project Partners Workshops

Interdisciplinary Civic Engagement Project Partners Workshops

Two workshops focussing on community-led pedagogy in relation to interdisciplinary live project assessments.

Thanks to a Santander Staff Development Award, we are pleased to announce TWO forthcoming workshops that invite interdisciplinary educators & their local community collaboration partners to explore what student behaviours best serve desirable community impact within community engaged scholarship programs.

The two workshops are scheduled to run in January in NYC and in Oxford in February 2014.

Each workshop will follow the same format and will run from 9-1pm beginning with an introduction of the themes for the day.

These will include the long-term effect of projects after occupancy; the interaction between students and community members; the risks & responsibility borne by each party and strategies for rewarding success in terms of both community impact and student learning.

The ideas put forward will inform an assessment benchmarking 'toolbox' - as a means to inform Higher Education Institutions about what kind of community impact Schools should be rewarding in relation to student behaviours.

Please come prepared to give a 5-10 minute presentation/overview your project (Powerpoint &/or verbal).

All participants will be credited. Academics and community partners from any discipline are encouraged to attend. The workshop is free & food/drinks will be provided throughout.

Places are limited. Please follow the links to the right to sign up.
